Welcome to Mindful Birth CU, the home of Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting education for central Illinois.
Thank you for visiting the website of Mindful Birth CU. You will find information here about Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) classes and resources available in our local area.
The MBCP program was founded by Nancy Bardacke, nurse midwife and mindfulness teacher at the University of California, San Francisco, to help families learn mindfulness skills for the challenges of childbirth, parenting and beyond. The program is adapted from the work of Jon Kabat Zinn's Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction which has been taught and researched since 1979. MBCP builds on Kabat Zinn's work to teach mindfulness practices specific to this amazing time in an expectant family's life.
Here in the Champaign-Urbana area MBCP classes are now available locally! Please have a look around the site for more information on the program, a schedule of currently available classes and more resources for adding mindfulness to your life. Classes are being held virtually as we practice physically distancing in 2020.
